Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

My husband & I are from Calif, but have a vacation home here and we eat at Agave's every single time we are in town...sometimes more than once per weekend! This restaurant is the BEST Mexican food in the area and we should know because we tried them all! Their food is great! Our favorites are the chile rellano, chicken taco, tamale, and enchilada. Ok, now lets talk about their MARGARITA"s!!! They are absolutely THEE BEST we have ever had anywhere! We've eaten at many different Mexican food restaurants & margaritas are my favorite cocktail, so I'm kinda an expert in this dept., and I'm not kidding you, Agave's are hands down the best anywhere! When you eat here they treat you like family. Everyone here is friendly, they remember you, ask how you are & just simply make you feel welcome to be there! The atmosphere is festive, happy & the restaurant is super clean. We love Agave's!

The service was good. The food was fine. I liked the bean dip with the chips. Enchilada and taco plate was good. The fajitas were ok ... the meat was cut up very fine which we didn't like much, and there was zucchini in the vegetable mix which was different but tasted good enough.

We came to bullhead cause we got a lake house for the end of the summer. Found this place driving around because the place we wanted to go to was originally closed. Our party was about 13 people and so we asked if we can get our seats put together so we can sit by each other. The woman inside was nice and she ended up being our server. When we finished ordering, the food came out quickly and efficiently, even the micheladas my friends had ordered. A few of the others starting coming and sat themselves in another table. While all this was happening, the lady was juggling in between groups that needed help. I ordered the chicken super taco and my boyfriend had the camarones. His food was really spicy, to the point where he didn't even wanna finish. My taco was good, and super big. I guess they didn't lie in the menu when they called it that. LOL. When everyone finished, we went outside and they had a little patio with seats and chairs you can sit on. It was nice, kinda like little Mexico. Wish we had a place like this in Vegas!

Read all the good reviews on yelp so after our movie we stopped by Agaves for lunch. For me, average, at best. Taco shell was over fried, shredded beef was ok, not much flavor. I really didn't like the chili relleno at all. They use way too much cardamom and/or allspice in the relleno sauce that gives it a weird sweet flavor that I, personally didn't care for. Beans were ok but not much flavor, rice was too salty to eat. I would come back here for taco Tuesday, $1.00 tacos and $ 1.00 draft beer. Now my husband said he thought it was pretty good. Mind you, that was after 3 large beers ;)

I've been to this restaurant twice and was really disappointed in the flavor and quality of food. There is much better Mexican to be had in this town. I wouldn't eat here again.

Tacos were excellent, beans were too watery. Waitress was overwhelmed. Young lady ( big bun on her head with a red sparkly headband) behind the bar was extremely rude. We asked her to take our check and after she took it and walked away we were laughing about something that had nothing to do with her, she came back and said "what's so funny, what are you laughing about" we told her nothing to do with you. She's stomped away and came back and threw our check at us. If they weren't so busy if have complained to the manager.

So I came back for my 2nd time as I'm in town visiting our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 children. It seems they always only have 1 server from both times I've came? Anyways chips and complimentary salsa is pretty good. But now for the negative drinks cup dirty my aunts shrimp cocktail bottom of the glass badly chipped someone can really slice their hands!!!! My tamale severly burned , shrimp cocktail was good . My daughter who is 5 LOVES ground beef tacos couldn't get her to eat it hmmm? Me and my aunt ordered 2 patron coronaritas mine did not come with the beer holder so it slipped out and poured on the table :/. It also tasted sooo funny. Later on that evening me/my boyfriend BOTH threw up and my aunts throat swelled up . Nope not 1 but 3 people?! The server tried his best considering a whole restaurant and just himself to do it alone and chips and salsa good but will not be back .

Overall fairly good. I had the Los Tres Amigos - 3 different types of enchilada and sauces. The rice was tasty, they blend in cilantro and onion with their sour cream so if you're like me and hate cilantro, just ask for plain cream. My favorite was the machaca with the red sauce. There were onions in my friend's cheese enchilada, which she hates, but they made another one without - that was very nice. Hubby had fajitas, he liked them, says they were a little oily. Today was live music Saturday, strange because it wasn't Mexican music, but the dude was okay with his flute. He took a break and the background typical music was put on. The service was very nice and timely. Food came out quick! I'd come back and try other things.

By far, this local's favorite eatery! This is easily my favorite restaraunt in the area. The place is always clean, and the service is always excellent. It is family owned and ran, and you can tell they really put their hearts into it. The chips are always fresh and delicious, and the salsa is the best I've ever had. We've never spent more than $20 here, and always leave full AND with leftovers. I love their chimichungas, and my partner loves their burrito grande. You can't choose a bad order here! Try this great local business! Enjoy the nice patio too if you get the chance!

Great food at a great price. Food: 4/5 stars Service: 3/5 stars Presentation: 4/5 stars Price: 5/5 star If you're looking for good Mexican food in Bullhead, Agave's is your place. You will not walk away hungry, the food is tasty and the atmosphere is great. The fajita sandwich on the lunch menu is served with fries and is an excellent deal at $6.95. Of course there's chips, salsa and beans to fill you up. Two of us ate for under $20. Highly recommended.

I came down to visit my mother for Christmas and New Years and my first place to eat was at Agave. My mother had been telling me how great this mexican restaurant was. On my first day's visit my aunt and uncle took my mother and I to have dinner with their friends. The restaurant is nice, clean and the decor is fitting. I like how they placed small sombreros over the spot lights that light up their booths. They have a small bar where about 8 people can sit. When the 6 of us walked in we requested a booth. The severs are very friendly and one of the owners was tending the bar. My uncle introduce him to me and he was a very nice man. Tuesday is $1 taco night and it just so happened to be Tuesday. Happy Hour had just started at 2 pm. (It runs until 5 daily) During happy hour you get $1 off appetizers, $2.75 House Margaritas!!!, $1 draft beer!!! and $1.50 import beer. The owner took our drink orders first. I ordered one of their house margaritas (blended) and my mother ordered a keoke coffee. After taking the drink orders our server brought us fresh chips, a small bowl of refried beans and salsa. The chips well what can I say they were nice, hot and crispy. I dipped a chip in the beans and was in bean heaven. These refried beans were outstanding. The salsa was O.K. but give the beans a try. Our drinks were brought as we decided on what to order. Their margaritas are strong and for $2.75 (during happy hour) you will not be disappointed. After just one I felt a little buzzed and after my second I was feeling down right good. When it came down to ordering our food I ordered the machaca and egg dinner. My uncle and mother ordered three each tacos. The tacos were large and served in a hard shell with cheese and lettuce. My mom ordered one ground meat and two shredded beef tacos. My uncle had the carne asada tacos and my aunt order the Chile Relleno burrito with rice and beans. Her burrito was large and she only finished half of it. My machaca plate came with their excellent beans, rice and choice of tortillas. (corn for me) Now machaca and eggs is my hands down favorite thing to order and usually is the first thing I'll try at a mexican restaurant I've never been to before. This is the best machaca that I have ever eaten at any restaurant. The meat was so tender and flavorful that it was more intoxicating then my margaritas. The ratio of meat to egg was about 70% meat 30% eggs. I literally cleaned my plate. Besides the great beans they really make some good mexican rice. Tomorrow is my last full day with my mom before taking the train back to Pasadena, California and tomorrow on my last day I'm going to be eating at Agave with my mom, aunt and uncle. My mouth just can't wait. Agave here I come and I'll be hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've eaten here several times and I honestly don't understand some of these reviews. First the chips and dips, the chips just tasted like very average bagged chips, the salsa is very watery, I like salsa that you can pick up some tomato, onion and peppers on your chip and the bean dip, tasted like refried beans right out of the can, I don't understand why so many reviews here rave about the salsa and bean dip. The service was good and the enchiladas were good but the tacos on Taco Tuesday, were $1.00 each and I swear they were exactly like Del Taco 59 cent tacos, hard store bought taco shells. Overall it was OK at best but I think there are easly 5 or 6 better Mexican resturants in the area.

Excellent local place! Food great, prices low...being a Texan, we've had a lot of Mexican food and this ranks right up with the best. Definitely best Mexican food in the tri-state. Go for happy hour and watch the locals, better than Walmart!!! Employees great, we go every week. Best in bhc.!!!!!! Love eating on the patio outside.

good food, good prices and nice staff

Finally, somebody to give "The Casa" a reason to try. Agave has good food and strong drinks at reasonable prices. A patio, well shielded from the wind, and plenty of cute waitress's to go around.
